Well known for its superb home-cooked food and locally sourced, all freshly prepared to order, ideally placed for the Cotswolds, Stratford and Warwick. The ambience is relaxed and informal and we try to make sure that everyone has a great time – whether it’s an intimate dinner for two or a family celebration.

 

Our menus change throughout the year and loosely follow the seasons. We offer a good selection of dishes to suit more palates. We can accommodate any specific dietary requirements as long as you give us notice.

We serve regional and seasonal British food. We are fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful countryside which is home to some excellent farms and producers. Our menus change with the seasons and will include asparagus from Evesham, Gloucester Old Spot Pork, local Dexter beef and venison plus of course Cotswold lamb. In the Winter local shoots provide us with pheasant, wild duck and partridge. Our cheeses are all local and include the award winning Blue Brie from Stow and St Eadelburgs from Gorsehill Farm in the next village.   

 

The Bar: our comfortable and cosy bar, with its blazing log fire in Winter, is the perfect place to relax after a long walk or to enjoy a pre-dinner gin & tonic. We keep Real Ales from the local Hook Norton and Purity breweries, lager from the award winning Cotswold Brewing Company and a great local cider, Hogans. Our wine list offers an interesting selection of bottles from both Old & New World wineries, and we offer most of our wines by the glass too.

The King’s Head is a traditional 15th Century village inn located in picturesque Aston Cantlow in the heart of Warwickshire approximately 6 miles from Stratford-upon-Avon. It is a listed building oozing with character with its original oak beams and open fires. The building and area are steeped in history including the church next door where Shakespeare’s parents married and they are rumoured to have held their Wedding Breakfast in The King’s Head.
