March 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 | RSC - The Duchess of Malfi 01789 403493 In an attempt to prevent the fiercely independent Duchess from marrying the man she loves, her corrupt brothers go on a disturbing quest to destroy her. Remarkable for its inventive and grotesque violence, yet full of dark humour, this violent revenge tragedy asks how anyone can survive in a world where masculinity has become toxic. |
March 1 - 4 | The Phoenix Players present Once Upon A Time 01789 207100 The Phoenix Players upcoming production is an original show, written and directed by Lee Holt. It harnesses its own storyline with a collaboration of well-known fairy-tale characters and famous musical-theatre numbers to boot!
The tale centres around a young girl, Lottie, or Red as she soon becomes known, who knew loss at an early age and has been searching throughout her adolescence to fill the hole that was left. |
March 3rd and 17th | Farmers Market 01512 332165 The defining characteristics of a Farmers' Market are that the producers should sell their own produce share their passion for their produce and sample their goods - and all produce should be made from local ingredients wherever possible (usually not more than 30 miles away). |
March 8-10 | Les Miserables Schools Edition 01789 207100 Stratford Musical Theatre Companys Junior ensemble make their debut with the School Edition of the worlds most popular musical, Les Miserables. Set in 19th century France, this epic show follows Jean Valjean after his release from 19 years of imprisonment in the galleys and his pursuit by the relentless police inspector Javert, the tragic Fantine and her daughter Cosette who Valjean takes into his care, and the student Marius whose friends idealism brings them to the barricades of the fated 1832 Paris Uprising. |

March 13th | Peter Donohoe plays Shostakovich 01789 207100 Peter Donohoe and Shostakovich are an unmissable combination and Prokofievs joyous Classical Symphony provides a suitable preface to a performance by one of the foremost pianists of our time. Enter Donohoe for Shostakovichs irresistible Second Piano Concerto and all the while we were heart-warmingly aware of this generous collaboration between soloist, conductor, and a galvanised orchestra. March 14th, 8pm | Pete Oxley & Nic Meier Quartet 01789 207100 Returning to Stratford Jazz after their duo show in 2016. This time they have a new album and we have expanded the band by doubling the number of musicians. |
March 21st, 7.30pm | Kast Off Kinks 01799 207100 The Kast off Kinks are actual former members of the legendary band The Kinks, back together playing great music and re-living the good times whilst keeping the songs alive that made The Kinks a household name. |
March 22, 23, 24 | RSC - Julius Caesar: First Encounters 01789 403493 This new version of Julius Caesar is the perfect introduction to Shakespeare for 8 -13 year olds. A company of actors have travelled up and down the land performing their stories. Now theyve arrived in your town to tell a tale of friendship and betrayal. Caesar, Romes leader, has returned from war strongerthan ever, but some of his followers are questioning his power. |
March 28th | Warwick Races - Spring Raceday 01926 405560 With The Festival finished for many the pressure is off, and this laid-back raceday is a perfect example of a simple but pleasant day out at the track. March 28th, 8pm | Julian Siegel Quartet 01789 207100 An incredible line-up of top London Jazz musicians performing tracks from their new album 'Vista'. Julian manages to create melody and sophistication in his saxophone lines whilst pushing the limits of jazz harmony and intensity. We last saw Julian and drummer Gene Calderazzo in the Parliamentary Jazz Award winning group 'Partisans'. |
